Dive into the unexplored and the unfound! Render your vision of a time, place or idea for a chance to win a V-Ray/Corona license, Chaos Cloud credits and more.
Submission for the 2019 student rendering challenge is now closed! We'll announce the finalists and open the public vote on December 5, 2019. The winners will be announced on December 12, 2019
We’re challenging you to investigate, imagine and illustrate the undiscovered. From the depths of the deepest oceans to the farthest-reaching solar systems; from lost civilizations to extraterrestrial discoveries — put your imagination to the ultimate test and show us your renders for a chance to win an incredible prize package.
Open to students of all disciplines, you can submit renders of anything from design prototypes and architectural visualizations to characters and VFX. Simply to show us the unthinkable, the unknown — and convince us to believe!
What should I submit?
We want you to put your skills to the test and show us your best renders. You can use any software to model your vision, but be sure to render in V-Ray or Corona, on any platform with a legitimately acquired license.
Who can enter?
We welcome submissions by computer graphics students all around the world who are currently enrolled in an accredited program or course. Be sure to read the official competition rules to check that you qualify.
What do I need to take part?
If you don’t already have access to V-Ray or Corona as part of your program or course, you can take advantage of our free fully featured trials for V-Ray and Corona Renderer to participate in this student rendering contest:
Download your free 30-day V-Ray trial >
Download your free 45-day Corona Renderer trial >
How will you choose the winning images?
Our judging panel will choose a grand-prize winner and share up to 12 finalists on Chaos Group’s Facebook Page. The public will have the opportunity to select their winner from the 12 finalists. The winning image will be the artwork that gets the most likes; the next three projects with the most likes will be awarded runner-up prizes.
When will the competition run?
We’ll accept entries from October 1 to December 1, 2019. We'll announce the finalists and open the public vote on December 5, 2019. The winners will be announced on December 12, 2019.
