Kengo Kuma uses natural materials in cutting-edge designs. Join Tomohiro Matsunaga to find out how CG has made these otherworldly creations possible.

After earning a degree in architectural planning and schematic design from Keio University’s Science and Technology department, Tomohiro Matsunaga now works as Chief Project Manager for architect Kengo Kuma & Associates. This world-renowned practice’s most recent work includes the dramatic V&A design museum in Dundee, Scotland, and graceful parametric designs which make use of natural materials.

We want to create warmth and kindness in the built environment.

Although CG software and nature may seem to be polar opposites, in Tomohiro’s presentation you’ll learn how Kengo Kuma uses cutting-edge modeling, rendering and computational design to create buildings which flow seamlessly into the natural world.

Tomohiro will be giving the talk “Visualizing the context between architecture and environment” as part of the Art track at Total Chaos. See the full schedule.
