Speed up your V-Ray archviz workflow with Chaos Vantage

V-Ray artists can explore and render complex scenes 100% ray traced in real-time with Vantage. See what it’s all about.

Chaos Vantage is a high-quality visualization environment that works with V-Ray scenes, allowing artists to explore and render the most demanding 3D scenes in real-time, with stunning photorealism.

The fully ray-traced environment supports massive scenes, making it ideal for billion-polygon projects. Create high-quality visuals and animations swiftly, perfect for pre-visualization and client reviews.

When you bring Vantage into your V-Ray archviz workflow, you can benefit from:

Quick & easy scene setup: Drag and drop V-Ray scenes and manipulate objects intuitively.

100% ray-traced quality: Vantage makes use of physically based cameras, lights, materials, and global illumination for the most realistic results.

Large scene handling: Explore and present billion-polygon projects without lag or limitations.

Simple & fast animation: Easily create, edit, and render animations — perfect for pre-visualization.

Post-processing: Fine-tune your renders without using any image editing software.

Since the software is entirely raytraced and doesn’t partly rely on rasterization, Vantage is a super high-quality out-of-the-box solution without the need to fiddle with settings and variables for hours on end and with very few compromises in terms of features.

Using Vantage as an archviz artist

With Vantage, you can test unlimited design variations, view every aspect of your V-Ray scene as you model, and render high-quality visuals at unprecedented speeds. It can significantly enhance your design process and presentation capabilities.

For Archie Zhou, the founder of Raying Studio, "Vantage also provides a range of new possibilities, allowing for quick animation of static scenes created within the same V-Ray environment and achieving rendering effects similar to CPU rendering. This simplifies the management and production processes for many projects."

Let's take a look at what you can use Vantage for, and the kind of results you can expect to see.

Scene exploration

Traverse your scenes

Travel around your scene as if you were playing a video game, with the advantage of correct materials and lighting. Unleash your inner cinematographer with that perfect angle and fix your viewpoints so you can show clients around later.

Explore & present unlimited design variations

Switch between material schemes and lighting configurations to compare, explain, and explore all the possibilities you have for your design or its presentation. Perfect for over-the-shoulder presentations.

Make lighting adjustments

Instantaneously adjust lights and turn them on or off — including the sun. With material override, you can see exactly where shadows fall without being distracted by textures and colors.

A viewport companion

Live Link

Live Link Vantage from V-Ray for 3ds Max, Maya, SketchUp, Rhino, Revit, or Cinema 4D for the best viewport you’ve ever had. Make changes to materials, textures, and lighting and see how they affect the scene in real-time. Its performance is usually better than the native viewport.

See every aspect of your scene as you model

Enjoy a real-time companion view unaffected by scene size that gives you a highly realistic view of your scene as you adjust materials, lighting, and geometry. Iteration has never been faster.

Faster renders

Quick scene setup

Drag and drop your V-Ray scene into Vantage, set the quality slider, and click render. Forget about optimizing geometry, unwrapping UVs, or baking lighting. Vantage handles gigantic scenes, billions of polygons, and high-res textures without a problem.

High-quality renders

Produce high-quality renderings and animations in record time at a quality level that makes approval easy. And in-built post-processing makes color corrections just as efficient.

Fast & simple animation

With our Live Link from V-Ray for 3ds Max, Maya, and Cinema 4D, you can export and send an animation for rendering directly in Vantage. You also get the best of both worlds with full control and extended feature support.

Vantage has changed the way my studio works and has greatly helped and improved our clients’ projects visually. What would have taken two weeks to render traditionally on one workstation can now be done in six hours.

Why Raying Studio uses V-Ray and Vantage

Raying Studio has always been at the forefront of architectural visualization. This Chinese firm combines the latest technology with an artistic touch to produce visuals of China’s burgeoning construction industry.

Archie Zhou, founder of Raying Studio explained to us why he chooses to use V-Ray and Vantage.

“There is a vast amount of assets within the architectural visualization industry that are compatible with the V-Ray renderer, which makes V-Ray highly competitive in the field of architecture.

Vantage provides excellent support for V-Ray standard materials, requiring minimal additional conversion operations, allowing for the direct creation of some special effects shots. Vantage [also] offers excellent rendering speed and scene handling capabilities, allowing for the quick animation of scenes at different scales or the generation of previews.”

For Raying Studio, one Vantage feature offers the company a huge advantage.

“Without a doubt, the most commonly used feature is the Live Link,” says Archie. “With its real-time reflection of scene changes, we can utilize it for various visual requirements such as water ripples, weather effects like rain and snow, and animations of architectural components flying into the scene using Tyflow and 3ds Max’s modify functionality. All these can be rendered through the Live Link feature.”
