Powering the renders of the future: V-Ray is set to take advantage of the reduced power consumption and uncompromising performance of ARM-based CPUs.
We’re always keen to increase V-Ray’s versatility and efficiency, and we’re proud to announce that we’ve been working on general V-Ray support for ARM-based processors running on Linux systems. CPUs using the ARM architecture are known for their lower power consumption while being comparable in performance to x86 platforms.
So far, AWS benchmarks of ARM-based CPUs against comparable x86 processors show similar performance at a reduced cost of operation.
This latest development is part of our ongoing efforts to make V-Ray as accessible and versatile as possible and to let customers use V-Ray in a more cost-efficient way with a lower environmental footprint.
Stay tuned for more news.
