Great album, nothing bad to say. Saw the PowderChair concert. Thought Powderfinger were good, but Silverchair blew me away.

Even thought this album is engaging, it lacks what the others had, Pure Grunt. This is just another example of Australian bands going soft for the consumer. In some cases it does have a catchy tune and steady beat, but to me it dosn't have the same originality of the other albums.
Big thumbs down.

Van Dyk Parks hands are evident on this record as many of the tunes evoke a Beach Boys sound. First single 'Straight Lines', 'Those Thieving Birds/Strange Behaviour' and 'Waiting All Day' are the stand-out tracks.

This album is more accessible to the masses than Diorama as songs generally contain fewer changes in direction and orchestral arrangements. This should also see it getting more radio play than its predecessor.

It sounds unlike most other music that is being released at the moment and harks back to the 70's era of progressive rock music.

Overall a solid, if sometimes safe (compared to Diorama, anyway) album.

This is proof that Silverchair just doesnt get any better. It's true that the Newie trio has come a long way since being pimple faced teens rocking out in thier dads garage ogling Playboy, oh yes. And even though "Frogstomp" was brilliant for it's time, it just doesnt compare to this work of art. Silverchair are definately getting better with time, and I thought this album would be a letdown since Diorama was pretty near perfect. Oh no, if this doesnt top Diorama, it's certainly worth it. In conclusion - it's been a 5 year wait, but it's certainly been worth it.

Sounds like one of the Von Trapp Family Singers went solo on too much speed.

Terrible.
