The world is in mortal danger. For Jack West Jr and his loyal team of heroes, the challenge now is to set six legendary diamonds known as "the Pillars" in place at six ancient sites around the world before the deadline for global destruction arrives. The locations of these sites, however, can only be revealed by the fabled Six Sacred Stones. With only the riddles of ancient writers to guide them, and time rapidly running out, Jack and his team must fight their way past traps, labyrinths and a host of deadly enemies - knowing that this time they cannot, will not, must not fail. The mission is incredible. The consequence of failure is unimaginable. The ending is unthinkable.

Why sell half a book?
By summerdays from Sydney on 1/27/2008
Pros:
Great Characters, Great Twist, Keeps You Guessing, Page Turner
Cons:
Stops in the middle
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I love Matthew Reilly's work and this has the ususal action pack and great adventure- what you don't know when you buy the book is you don't get a full story - it stops half way through. The cover says "the ending is unthinkable" - it's also NOT in the book. Pls be upfront if your book is a serial. A disapointed fan

Not his best work
By ScifiGoon from Canberra, AUS on 11/15/2007
Pros:
Original Story, Well Written
Cons:
Predictable
Best Uses:
Gift

Everyday Reader
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Reilly's format for this book is the same as his previous books and its wearing a little thin. He has tried to keep the reader guessing but having used the same style for so many books its getting to easy to guess what happens next. Never the less, still an enjoyable read, just do not start with over inflated expectations.

A great book, although not his best
By Cable Guy from Upwey on 11/2/2007
Pros:
Deserves Multiple Readings, Great Twist, Keeps You Guessing, Original Story, Page Turner
Cons:
First of a 2-parter, Less action than normal
Best Uses:
Any current fans, Young Adults
Describe Yourself:
Bookworm
Bottom Line:

This was a good book, but I was dissapointed by the fact that it is the fist of a two-parter. Not altogether a bad thing, but the fact that that is never mentioned anywere annoyed me. I was nearly at the end of the book and realised that heaps of stuff still had to happen.
