Every so often something truly unique emerges from the hum-drum and The Hives have found the perfect formula. They're running a buzzsaw through audiences worldwide with explosive, cocky guitars and infectious sing-a-long choruses, delivered with million-watt charisma and plenty of squealing howls as they get down with their bad selves.

Their kinetic brew is a proud retro bag of tricks borrowed from 50's R'N'R, 60's garage, 70's punk, new wave and everything after. Even though their album Veni Vidi Vicious came out at the end of 2000, it took this compilation that Creation Records founder Alan McGee put together for his new Poptones label to really get the hurricane flying in the UK and US.

This deluxe retro looking package houses a blazing collection of Hives tracks taken from their Barely Legal and Veni Vidi Vicious albums plus the singles A.K.A I-D-I-O-T and Hate To Say I Told You So. And as if that wasn't enough, you also get videos for Main Offender, Hate To Say I Told You So, A.k.a I-D-I-O-T and Die, All Right!.

There's so many wicked extras on here, that even if you were incredibly wise enough to get all the releases when they first came out, you still definitely need this baby.
