Description
The Year My Voice Broke is set in the summer of 1962 in a remote New South Wales country town.
Adopted as a baby, sixteen year-old Freya (
Loene Carmen) is a constant target of cruel gossip and speculation. Spirited and independent, her one ally is Danny (
Noah Taylor), who has been in love with her as long as he can remember. From a distance, Danny watches helplessly as Freya falls for the town tearaway, Trevor (
Ben Mendelsohn).
Trevor’s and Freya’s relationship has explosive results that change everything and trigger Danny’s discovery of the town’s darkest secret.
