Shot for HBO in 2005, this triumphant return to the Lyceum Theatre in New York City marked the 20th anniversary of Whoopi Goldberg's first Broadway show. Although Whoopi has branched out into other ventures, stand-up comedy is where she made her name, and she clearly enjoys returning to her first passion in this performance. As a treat for her fans, Whoopi returns to many of the characters from her old act, and gives them a contemporary twist by having them talk about pertinent issues of the day. Directed by Whoopi's longtime friend and coworker Mike Nichols (BILOXI BLUES), the Lyceum show is included in full on this release.
