The legendary Rod Stewart is touring Australia in late January and early February 2002. Rod literally kick started his career as a trainee footballer. But it was not to be and he spent the next year busking around Europe. Upon his return he performed with several groups including The Raiders, Long John Baldry, Jeff Beck and The Faces before going solo. He simultaneously topped the charts in October 1971 in the US and the UK with Maggie May. Rod was the first solo artist to achieve this.
