Description
A unique collection of cool covers, Uncovered breathes new life into tracks that you’ve already grown to love once before. A double CD of intelligent re-workings of hits, both young and old, by artists from across the musical spectrum. From classical to dance, from indie-rock to chilled out acoustic; each cover steers the original into uncharted territory, giving you new reasons to enjoy tracks from The Doors, Crowded House, Joy Division, Daft Punk, The Cure and even Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.
Some of the tracks are simple, modern updates such as Madcon’s recent chart breaking rework of The Four Seasons’ Beggin’; Sarah Blasko’s stripped back Don’t Dream it’s Over originally by Crowded House, and Groove Armada’s take on Gary Numan’s Are ‘Friends’ Electric?.
Others are totally unexpected departures from the originals, such as Tom Hodge’s stirring orchestral version of Daft Punk’s Aerodynamic, Tiga’s four-to-the-floor club rework of Nelly’s Hot in Herre (featuring the Scissor Sister’s Jake Shears on vocals), Jose Gonzales’ poignant take on The Knife’s Heartbeats; The Vines’ grungy re-imagining of Outkast’s Ms Jackson, and Nouvelle Vague’s bossa-influenced cover of Joy Division’s seminal Love Will Tear Us Apart.
