New York City natives, the Scissor Sisters, were arguably THE breakthrough act of 2004, becoming the highest selling act of the year in the UK with their debut album, the ARIA Top 10 release Scissor Sisters (which is now platinum in Australia). At the 2005 Brit Awards, the group won all the awards they were nominated for, and since then, the band has been busy touring (with Depeche Mode, Duran Duran and U2) and writing new material. The Scissor Sisters gave the world a sneak preview of songs from the forthcoming album Ta-Dah during the LIVE 8 shows this year, and the recent sold out Sydney and Byron Bay shows, and continue their collaborative work (Shears and Babbydaddy co-wrote and produced I Believe In You for Kylie Minogue) on the new album. Sir Elton John collaborated with them on the first single, the irrepressible slice of disco pop I Don’t Feel Like Dancin (on which Babydaddy plays the banjo!!).
