Description
Starting with the Clash's 1977 debut, Joe Strummer set the political agenda for punk that changed rock & roll forever and truly expanded punk's artistic range. It's been said that Joe put out like a soul singer. It was like an exorcism. As Joe would say, "I was just lookin' to stir things up." Joe loved to talk about early rock, especially American rock. He spoke with equal enthusiasm for Creedence Clearwater Revival and Bob Dylan and the power of music to change lives. In the late 90's Joe formed a new punk unit, Joe Strummer And The Mescaleros, who toured around the world and recorded three records together.
