Description
Blue King Brown have been traveling the country infusing people's ears with their distinctly original sound of trademark percussive beats, hard hitting lyrics and infectious groove.
Stand Up is the debut album from this Australian five piece, produced by founding band members, Natalie Pa'apa'a and Carlo Santone. The bulk of the recording was done at Sydney's Big Jesus Burger studios by Chris Townend, tracked to tape to retain the old school warmth, they have created an album with a refreshing modern take on the roots genre, uniquely Australian yet with an unquestionable international feel. An album that reflects Blue King Brown's current sound and shows their future direction.
Mixed by rising Australian Producer, 'Buchman' aka Tony Buchen (Baggsmen, Macromantics) and mastered at Sterling Sound in New York by Chris Athens (Damien 'Jr Gong' Marley, Cold Play), Stand Up launches Blue King Brown into the new territory of international interest and will give them the opportunity to spread their rhythms across the globe.
Stand Up delivers a collection of previously unrecorded tracks that have made regular appearances on the bands live set list over the past year, and a bunch unheard material written for the record.
The title track along with 'Keep It True', 'One Day', and 'Coming Through' showcase the roots/soul flavours of Blue King Brown. There's a reworked version of 'Water' the bands hugely successful single from 2005. 'We Won't Go', 'Come And Check Your Head', 'Us And Them' and 'Don't Let Go' highlight the up beat side of the record and Salvador Persico's percussion prowess. There's also a few nice surprises to expect as well.
