A household name by the age of 18, Matt Corby is one of Australia's brightest young singer-songwriters. He's a multi-intstrumentalist with diverse influences and already boasts the kind of loyal and vocal fanbase that most artists take an entire career to build. 2008 has been a busy year. Between playing to star-struck crowds at venues and festivals across Australia, Matt took time to write with some very well heeled members of Australia's folk and rock establishment including Josh Pyke, Lior and Evermore. Towards the end of the year he skipped across the pond to New York and London to work with songwriting luminaries Sasha Skarbek (James Blunt) and McGowan Southworth (Ben Lee). Forging a sound that's artistically and musically honest is paramount for Matt. His latest material is a raw, ambitious mash of blues and folk, drawing inspiration from master troubadours like Jeff Buckley and Bob Dylan, and contemporary crooners like Scott Matthews.
