Description
Sheffield's Toddla T emerges as a healthy antecedent to the predominant rock output of the area, incorporating elements of drum 'n' bass, dub and ragga, as well as more traditional dance music. His debut album, 'Skanky Skanky', is a rip-roaring barrage of fun and energy, with the dancefloor as much in mind as the home stereo. The appearance of poet Benjamin Zephaniah on 'Rebel' lends the album a distinct rawness and gravitas, but the emphasis is still resolutely on dynamic dancefloor anthems.
