Description
The sci-fi masterpiece for the first time on DVD in Australia! Responsible for the innovative special effects in Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey,
Douglas Trumbull here made an impressive directorial debut with this 1971 cult classic - he later created the effects for Blade Runner and Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Bruce Dern stars as a nature-loving crew member of the Valley Forge, a gigantic spaceship that carries Earth’s last surviving forests. When orders come to destroy the domes, Dern vows to save the forests by sending them into deep space. Joan Baez sings the classic hippy-generation theme song.
