Description
Rich Terfry is the "brains" behind the musical outfit called Buck 65. Buck 65 (born Richard Tefry, aka Stinkin' Rich) was born and raised in a town populated by a few hundred people near Halifax Nova Scotia and developed two main passions in life: baseball and hip-hop.
Warner Music Canada signed Terfry in 2002. He had built his reputation on North America's underground hip-hop circuit over the past decade and through a half-dozen releases on his own Metaforensics label and through his work with the unconventional Anticon collective in Oakland, Calif., and with fellow Canadian rapper Sixtoo.
Canada's Buck 65 (aka Richard Terfry) embraces traditional American storytelling against a backdrop of folk, rock, hip-hop and country.
'Secret House Against The World' is his third full-length release and is the follow-up to the great 'Talkin' Honky Blues'. It is Buck 65's most complex and ambitious outing to date. In it, he explores several unique musical genres, and vocally, his trademark deadpan drawl sometimes strays into Johnny Cash rasp territory. An evolution of major proportions. The new album was recorded in Chicago and Paris, mixed by Head in the UK, produced by Graeme Campbell, Charles Austin and Buck 65, plus it features Tortoise and D-Style.
