Qua is Melbourne producer Cornel Wilczek. By day, Cornel is an in demand soundtrack composer and music producer, who's worked with Architecture in Helsinki, Mountains in the Sky and Clue to Kalo - to name a few. “Q & A” is a massive departure from Qua’s previous releases. The ambient-electronica from “Forgetabout” (2002), “Painting Monsters on Clouds” (2004) and “Silver Red” (2008), has been dropped in favour of ecstatic synths and blistering drums. Recorded in his own studio, Q&A sounds very shiny and plastic. It is electronic music but there are moments where live drums, guitars and even vocals take it into very unknown territory. Featuring James Cecil (Architecture in Helsinki) and Laurence Pike (Pivot, Triosk, Savath + Savalas) on drums, Q&A continues Cornel’s use of almost-science fiction technology to tap into an etheric river of inspiration.
