Original score composed by Carlo Siliotto. Wind-Up Records follows up their marriage of comic books and hard rock on the DAREDEVIL soundtrack by providing the musical backdrop for THE PUNISHER, a film inspired by yet another hero from the Marvel Comics universe. Not surprisingly, Wind-Up once again dips into the world of post-grunge and aggro-rock to fill out the ranks of this collection. Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee, whose band made their debut on the DAREDEVIL soundtrack, flies solo on the soaring "Broken," a duet with label-mates Seether. Nickelback, another veteran of movie compilations, also pops up with the heavy groove of "Slow Motion." Otherwise, a mix of pounding beats, crunching riffs, and howling vocals is scattered throughout, in material by Drowning Pool, Damageplan (featuring Jerry Cantrell), and Hatebreed. The most unusual appearance here is made by country star-turned-actor Mark Collie, who makes the leap from a bit part in the film to his day job in the recording studio by way of "In Time," an ominous acoustic murder ballad.
