Equally memorable are the excerpts from operas by Donizetti and a rare foray into French repertoire with arias by Bizet and Massenet. The Donizetti arias display the exceptional tonal beauty of Pavarotti's voice, along with his ability to sing a seamless legato line. The Italian song favorites are delivered with a mixture of gusto and sentimentality.
