Description
Following Ivan Smagghe's superb Death Disco mix, those purveyors of quality dance music at
Eskimo Recordings give us a taste of the windy city via Amsterdams Paradiso club.
Chicago Boogie is exactly that, a sweaty romp through some of the most seminal cuts in house and acid house musics formative years and a healthy nod to the party spirit that helped put Chicago and House music on the map.
Compiled by Amsterdam based Antal and All Out K (both founders of Hollands highly regarded Rush Hour distribution) this CD also provides an insight into their six year running - Paradisco 3000 monthly residency at the Paradiso club.
From the bonafide classics of Mr. Fingers - Im Strong and Adonis - Were Rocking Down The House to the acid house underground anthems - Computer Madness by Steve Poindexter and Six Brown Bros - Battery Acid, Chicago Boogie is a carefully crafted mix of what dance music is all about.
The pair's Paradisco 3000 night has a loyal and feverish following. International guests read like a whos who of the cream of dance music: Moodymann, Theo Parrish, King Britt, Francois K, Domu, Recloose, Danny Krivit, Joe Claussell, 4 Hero, Norma Jean Bell, Jazzanova, etc. Understandably the club has attained a somewhat legendary status in the Dutch capital and still continues to party like its 3099!
On Chicago Boogie we find Antal & All Out K on a mission to bring in classic and less well known underground anthems.
Preferring not to put a name to his style, the most he'll concede is that his music is about a diversity that feels soulful, with a raw spiritual edge. House music all night long!
