GODSMACK

The road dogs in Godsmack took some of their precious time off to record acoustic reworkings of their hits, as well as new material. Songs from all three of the group's studio releases are represented on THE OTHER SIDE, which was held off for release as 2003's FACELESS picked up steam, no doubt due in part to the band's unforgiving touring schedule. The band easily shifts gears from their trademark heaviness (in the '90s-era Metallica style) to a vibe that bears obvious comparisons to Alice In Chains (in their "unplugged" incarnation) and Days Of The New. There are impressive new tracks here as well: "Running Blind," "Asleep," and "Voices." Additionally, in a kind nod to original Godsmack guitarist Lee Richards, THE OTHER SIDE also features "Touche," a hint of what to expect from Richards's new band Dropbox.
