Description
Tumbleweed are the essential Aussie band that have been categorically called everything, but they never seem to fit in the box just right. The emerged with the Grunge movement in the early 90's and helped to pave the way for so many "ALTERNATIVE" bands in Australia today - without them, we would not see many of the current Australian acts that are touring around the country. Tumbleweed are now the veterans and most often these days get the "STONERROCK" tag. They do it heavy most often, but on this album they have changed things a bit, an organ and theramin have been added to the rock and groove which makes for a much more textured album, and on some songs the pace has slowed somewhat. "I Thikn About You" is one of the best love songs written in a long time. "Blue Lady" is a deep trip into the darkest jungle, and "Don't Ask Why" has a groove that will bend your brains. "Planet of The Weeds" has got a riff that you will be humming or tapping your foot to hours after you listen, "Sometimes" is an organ driven melody with some ba-bapa-baba's added at the end for a hint of pop. "Ghost Shakers", "Saturn 3", "Herman", and "Joy" all rock out, and the album closes with a dark atmospheric "The Restless Years" and a hint of country steel guitar with "Before The Rain Set In" If you liked Tumbleweed before, you will love them now, if you've never heard them, buy this, it's worth it.
