Muddy Waters' classic Muddy Waters at Newport album is combined with the passable 1977 record Muddy Waters Live on this single-disc Beat Goes On reissue. The packaging and sound quality on this disc are first-rate, but the juxtaposition of the two records isn't particularly wise, since the Newport album dwarfs the '77 album in terms of excitement, energy and overall quality. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, AMG
