Description
Bob Mould was initially a member of HŸsker DŸ, one of the most influential American bands of the Ô80s. HŸsker DŸ was a post-hardcore punk band that helped define the sound and ideals of alternative rock. Their albums between between 1981 and 1987 have proven remarkably influential; they provided the sonic blueprint for the roaring punk-pop hybrid that crossed over into the mainstream in the early Ô90s. Mould would prove to be one of the most influential guitarists of the decade. With his slashing rhythms, distorted strumming, and blazing leads, he set the stage for the alternative guitar heroes of the late Ô80s and the Ô90s. The past 4 years has been an interesting ride, to say the least. After 20 years of loud guitar rock band recording and touring, Mould decided to relearn the process of composition. Unlike the past, he turned to electronic tools - samplers, synthesizers, computer-based recorders - and found a new set of tones, colours, and processes with which to create pop songs.
