MAD DOGS & ENGLISHMEN

Peter McGowan (Kenneth Branagh) is a once celebrated playwright struggling with writers-block. His once ordered life has descended into chaos: His wife wants a child and he does not, he has to deal with a senile mother-in-law, there is a stranger meandering the neighborhood claiming to be him and perhaps worst of the lot, his neighbors have a new dog that barks all night. He's working on a new play when a single mom moves in next door with her 8-year-old daughter. His wife immediately invites the girl into the McGowan household. Will this child stir Peter's paternal feelings? Will she also help him get his dialogue right? And what of this stranger and the bloody neighbor's dog?
