Lonely Planet Six Degrees is the new flagship series produced by Lonely Planet.
Playful, sassy, street smart and unexpected, Lonely Planet Six Degrees connects to what makes each city special – the people that live in it. By emphasising the human dimension of travel, Lonely Planet Six Degrees moves beyond sightseeing and offers the surest way of being whisked off your feet and fast-tracked to the heart of a city.
Presenter
Asha Gill hits the ground with fast-talking, Vespa-riding foodie KF Seetoh, who gives her an insight into Singapore food as performance art. Seetoh hooks Asha up with local Malay surf punks Force Vomit, who embark on their ‘Liberate Singapore’ campaign to promote their band at the Great Singapore Sale.
Force Vomit introduce Asha to gender-bending sari-clad, cabaret icon Kumar, who shows her how even a non-mainstream personality like himself can be accepted into the Singapore mainstream.
Asha continues to meet people in the strangest places, bumping into Jack Sim of the Singapore Restroom Association in the ladies powder room. He cajoles her into joining their Happy Toilet rating campaign designed to improve the quality of public lavatories in the cleanest of clean cities…
