A satirical comedy that looks at the independent film business, tossing up some shrewd and insightful jabs at Hollywood and the movie trade along the way. Nick Reve (Steve Buscemi) is struggling to direct a small indie flick with a shoestring budget on little more than a wing and a prayer. His leading lady is having a crisis of conscience, his leading man has an ego problem, and his crew have at least as many neuroses as goatees and berets. When the action spills outside of the scenes and everything goes wrong, it makes for an entertaining day on the set.
