One of country music's coolest and most distinctive stars, Dwight Yoakam helped usher in a new wave of country that was both traditionalist and progressive with its blend of Bakersfield honky-tonk and vintage Sun Studios-era rockabilly. Yoakam is captured live in this 1988 appearance on PBS's AUSTIN CITY LIMITS, which has been expanded from its televised half-hour episode to include all 90 minutes of the performance, featuring twangy versions of classics like "Guitars, Cadillacs," "Please, Please Baby," "Honky Tonk Man," and "Streets of Bakersfield."
