Compiled by founding member Dilworth Karaka, this 30th Anniversary compilation features 16 classic HERBS originals, including their number one hit SLICE OF HEAVEN and new versions of SENSITIVE TO A SMILE by Hollie Smith, and GOOD FOR LIFE, reworked by Nesian Mystik. HERBS came together 30 years ago in a time of societal upheaval, Maori awakening, land rights struggles, and a global shift in indigenous consciousness. “Herbs were the voice of many New Zealander’s during so many political movements, but still maintained a message of peace and love that unified people. They are incredible musicians that created timeless pieces that are still the sound of every NZ summer. I'm honoured to be part of this, a celebration of what they have achieved in their 30 years of making great music. " Hollie Smith HERBS have worked alongside UB40, TAJ MAHAL, TINA TURNER, NEIL YOUNG and STEVIE WONDER, and in recent years contemporary groups like FAT FREDDYS DROP, KATCHAFIRE and HOUSE OF SHEM have cited HERBS as inspirational pioneers.
