A time has come in the Great Valley when all the longnecks, including Littlefoot and his grandparents, begin to have mysterious and intriguing dreams. Uncertain as to what their ‘sleep stories’ mean, the longnecks find themselves experiencing the same restless urge to embark on a journey. Littlefoot sets out with his grandparents, traversing fascinating new landscapes, all the while encountering a growing number of other longnecks, all on the same journey into the unknown. Littlefoot’s friends in the Great Valley are overcome with curiosity and envy of his new adventure, and ultimately their inquisitive and adventurous spirits lead them to follow in the longneck’s massive footsteps. Over the course of their journey, Littlefoot, Cera, Petrie, Ducky and Spike, encounter many new creatures, wonders of nature, dangers and joys – eventually becoming part of the biggest gathering of dinosaurs any could have imagined.
