Description
Adapted from stories by the great Italian writer Luigi Pirandello, ‘Kaos tells four separate tales of Sicilian life - titled The Other Son, Moonsickness, The Jar and Requiem - plus an epilogue about the author himself. These moving fables are united by their strong sense of community, their final ironies and the clear, graceful way in which they are told. The Pirandello influence makes itself felt in the twists of fate and the bittersweet note on which the stories conclude. The Tavianis contribute an earthy realism and knowing storytelling style that finds a folk wisdom in the characters’ humanity.
