Description
Between his tax problem and his legal battle with his wife for the custody of his daughter, these are hard times for the action star who finds that even Steven Seagal has pinched a role from him! In JCVD
Jean-Claude Van Damme returns to the country of his birth to seek the peace and tranquillity he can no longer enjoy in the United States. We have to applaud Jean-Claude for taking the piss out of himself. This is a comedy-slash-confessional, and the Muscles from Brussels opens up about his wayward life, drug problems, and anything-for-a-paycheck career path—and it's actually pretty funny, too. Those who only know his English-mangling "acting" from Bloodsport will be surprised at how natural and comfortable he comes across speaking in his native language (it's a subtitled film). In an age where Sly and Bruce can't seem to completely let go of their action hero past, it's refreshing to see JCVD do some real soul-searching.
