Description:
John Lee Hooker is undoubtedly one of the greatest blues artists of the 20th Century. His recording career spanned over half a century from his debut release in 1948 right up to his death at the age of 83 in 2001. He has influenced generations of musicians from all backgrounds including the Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, George Thorogood and Jimi Hendrix.
Jack O’ Diamonds is an album recorded in 1949 but never released at the time due to contractual problems. It has sat in the vaults ever since and is now available to hear for the first time. It was recorded at a private gathering in Detroit.
The recordings have been cleaned and remastered by John Astley to an exceptional standard and are now presented on CD.
