Description
At Sound Techniques Studios in London on the 11th and 12th of January 1967, with the line up of Syd Barrett (guitar), Nick Mason (drums), Roger Waters (bass) & Rick Wright (keyboards),
PINK FLOYD had their first ever recording session.
Film maker Peter Whitehead was there, and used what he captured as the basis for a subsequent documentary called "Tonite Let's All Make Love In London", which has since become recognized as one of the definitive artifacts of the era.
Available now for the first time on DVD, the film includes the very first (17 minute!) version of "Interstellar Overdrive" plus the previously unknown (12 minute) studio jam that they entitled "Nick's Boogie".
Footage also includes the Floyd at the 14 hour Technicolour Dream along with footage of John Lennon visiting and Yoko Ono exhibiting one of her early happenings and this is believed to be the first time the couple met.
A strong seller on video in the '90s, this is a stunning insight into the early days of one of the biggest rock bands ever - and of their enigmatic original guiding force SYD BARRETT - and a fantastic time capsule.
