It was the first Will Oldham record under the banner Bonnie 'Prince" Billy. In the past he had used his own name or "Palace Brothers" or "Palace music".
This album was just named by MOJO as one of the top 50 records of the last decade. It features the track "I See A Darkness" which was covered by Johnny Cash on his american III: Solitary Man record.
This is integral to any fan's Bonnie 'Prince' Billy CD collection. It is regarded by critics and fans as his best.
It includes the Bonnie Prince standards 'A Minor Place', "Madeline-Mary" and "Death To Everyone".
Bonnie 'Prince" Billy has toured Australia six times and all the shows on his last tour sold out. He is getting more popular with every release.
