HOWARD THE DUCK

Director Willard Huyck and producer Gloria Katz - the team that wrote George Lucas’ American Graffitti and Steven Spielberg’s Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom – adapted the witty Marvel comic that sees a humanoid duck from another planet land in America and attempt to save earth from the forces of evil. Howard drinks beer, chomps on cigars, reads PlayDuck, and finds himself attracted to a sexy rock singer named Beverly (Lea Thompson), whose manager Tim Robbins offers further comic relief. Wry, witty and great fun, the film today stands as feel-good 80s classic.
