Description
Honey Daniels (
Jessica Alba) has been waiting all her life to show the world her dance moves and now, everything she ever wanted is just a step away.
For years, her spirit and ambition have given the dancer and aspiring choreographer the courage to move ahead, even when those who love her best have doubts about her possible success in such a tough field.
Her one-in-a-million break arrives in the form of a video director, who sees Honey in the club she bartends and dances at, and offers her a spot as a back-up dancer. As her true ability shines through, Honey starts to live the dream, choreographing for some of the hottest acts in hip-hop and R&B, including Ginuwine, Tweet and Jadakiss & Sheek.
Almost as quickly as it arrives though, the dream begins to dissolve and Honey, with the encouragement of her boyfriend Chaz (
Mekhi Phifer) and best friend Gina (
Joy Bryant), rediscovers her love of dancing through the exuberant energy of a group of neighbourhood kids.
Bille Woodruff (music video director for Usher, Britney Spears and Toni Braxton), in his directorial debut combines a young, vibrant cast with a pulsating, diverse soundtrack featuring some of the best R&B, hip-hop and urban music superstars of today.
