To coincide with their forthcoming tour of Europe, Wilco will release a special limited edition of their GRAMMY winning album A ghost is born, featuring one previously unreleased track and one rare track from the original album sessions, as well as three new live songs recorded in October 2004 at the Orpheum Theater in Madison, Wisconsin.
A ghost is born merges traditional rock elements of guitars, drums and keyboards with the band's signature sonic experimentation, resulting in a record that is arguably the band's most organic and live sounding effort to date. Much of A ghost is born was tracked live in the studio with O'Rourke and engineer Chris Shaw (Bob Dylan). It was mastered at London's Abbey Road.

Their wins came in both categories for which they were nominated: Best Alternative Music Album and Best Recording Package (with art directors Dan Nadel and Peter Buchanan-Smith) for their current Nonesuch Records release, A ghost is born. These are the first two Grammy awards for Wilco. Their only previous nomination came in 1999, in the category of Best Contemporary Folk Album for their collaboration with Woody Guthrie and Billy Bragg on Mermaid Avenue.
