Description
In the spring of 1950, the United States was extended an invitation to compete in the Soccer World Cup in Brazil.
Faced with budgetary restrictions and no official soccer team to call their own, the U.S. recruits a group of young friends with no professional or international playing experience, only an unabashed love of the game.
With the odds considerably against them, the team faces off against the highest ranked team in the competition: England. The Brazilians fans' lack of support for England buoyed the Americans who gained a result that made them heroes back home.
"The Games Of Their Lives" is a classic underdog tale from the director ofthe classic sports films 'Hoosiers" and "Rudy".
Starring
