Who will the Channel 9 Commentary Team Selection Committee choose as the new Commentary Team Captain if and when Richie Benaud retires to his vineyard estate, “Verdaflore”, in the South of France. In the running for the guernsey are all the current commentary team of Bill Lawry, Tony Grieg, Mark “Tubby” Taylor, Ian Healy and Ian Chappell. The smart money is also on Hansie Cronje appearing as one of the guest commentators for the one day series, along with former Kiwi Captain Martin Crowe. Rumour also has it that the list of possible candidates for the captaincy of the commentary team may even include the likes of Ray Martin, Mike Munro, Eddie McGuire, Darrell Eastlake, Ray Warren, Molly Meldrum and Jim Waley. Fans are assured of the laughs they have grown accustomed to, and will laugh even harder when they discover they are getting nearly two and a half hours of brand new 12th Man stupidity on a double CD for the price of one.
