Description
Two years after releasing her multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning debut album Come Away with Me, Norah Jones returns this summer with the most anticipated release of the season: a superb collection of new songs entitled Feels Like Home. Feels Like Home features the singer-songwriter-pianist once again teaming with producer Arif Mardin, engineer Jay Newland and her touring band. She delivers a set of tunes written by her, members of her group and singer-songwriter Richard Julian. Jones also covers several tunes including the Townes Van Zandt number "Be Here To Love Me" and Duke Ellington's "Melancholia," which she wrote lyrics to and retitled "Don't Miss You At All."
The new album is co-produced by Jones and Arif Mardin and features her touring band as well as guest appearances by Dolly Parton, Levon Helm and Garth Hudson of The Band, Drummer Brian Blade, guitarists Jesse Harris and Tony Scherr and keyboardist Rob Burger.
Co-producer Arif Mardin notes, "Norah's music hits me right in the heart. She really touches you." As for the popularity of her debut, Mardin says, "People were ready for heartfelt music. She is the vanguard of another kind of pop music that listeners are yearning for. Listeners are looking for real artists like Norah Jones."
