EVERYTHING'S ALWAYS is the ensemble's first CD release. Many pieces in this unique album are built around a particular sample. For instance, Fencing Ranges is driven by the sound of brushes played on fences recorded in the wheat belt of the Flinders Ranges in South Australia. The percussions in H2O are generated by a (real) dripping tap, and Dogloop was composed from treated environmental sounds (including a dog barking) recorded in rural South Australia. But this isn't hard listening by any means. Rather, it is the richly melodic qualities combined with layered textures of these compositions which make this CD a truly engaging musical experience.
