Description
At 82, Brubeck is an absolute living legend, and his music continues to touch people around the world through his ceaseless touring schedule. He was one of the heroes of Ken Burns' Jazz series. Dave personally chose all of the selections for this 2-CD career overview, which will surely reach beyond his core audience. This collection of 31 tracks draws from 24 albums and spans a remarkable 53 years (1949-2002). Included is a rare track from his yet-to-be released album for the Telarc label. Brubeck is heard in the company of Louis Armstrong, Tony Bennett, Carmen McRae, Gerry Mulligan, Jimmy Rushing, and his classic quartet with Paul Desmond, Eugene Wright and Joe Morello. Excellent liner notes, rare photos and super digital remastering round out this collection.
