Description
The original Document Vol 1 was a landmark release, which ended up selling nearly 100,000 copies worldwide. Demand for this second instalment is set to be high as it's predecessor has been deleted for two years now.
Andy Smith is best known as Portishead's DJ and one half of Dynamo Productions who released their debut artist album, also on Illicit, earlier this year.
Andy has a huge profile in Australia due to the success of Dynamo Productions , who had a sell out National tour this year. Plus he has toured Australia as part of the Vibes On a Summer Day event.
The album is representative of Andy's exemplary crate digging skills, featuring a tracklisting like no other, packed full of classic hiphop, funk & soul – artists include Kate Bush, Ultramagnetic MC's James Brown, Georgie Fame, Mr Lif and Eric B & Rakim. It's an outstanding and imaginative collection of old and new; from Serge Gainsbourgh's spooky 'Requiem Pour Un C.', Black Sheep's timeless 'Choice Is Yours', Martin Brew's kitsch stomper 'Sand Steppin'' and the "one mooore" end-of-nighter, 'Am I The Same Girl' by Barbara Acklin.
The triple vinyl version is set to be a collector's item with tracks that have been unavailable on vinyl for decades!
Essential for fans of Dynamo Productions.
