Description
"You could say it was a temporary slight reaction to the way Pink Floyd records got made". Legendary guitarist, singer and tunesmith David Gilmour has fond memories of creating his self-titled debut solo album, originally released in 1978.
Rick Wills and Willie Wilson helped with the album. Wills was the bassist for Seventies AOR hitmakers Foreigner. And Quiver drummer Willie Wilson went back to Cambridge days with Gilmour.
While David Gilmour is incontrovertibly a solo disc, it also illustrates just how large a share Gilmour has had in what we think of as the classic Pink Floyd sound.
