Description
Set in World War II and starring James Coburn, Maximilian Schell and Senta Berger, Cross of Iron demonstrates a very strong anti-war message and is presented entirely from a German perspective. Filmed on location in Yugoslavia, director Sam Peckinpah recounts the story of a German Army Sergeant who tenaciously struggles to keep his platoon intact while surviving the horrors of the Russian front in 1943.
