Description
As the Not Drowning Waving catalogue rollout contines, Liberation are proud to announce the release of the band's 1987 masterpiece, 'Cold and the Crackle'.
'Cold and the crackle was recorded in 1986-7. We got permission to record the album out at the Eltham artist colony / failed tourism exercise "Monsalvat".we stalked the great hall for a couple of weeks exploring every nook and cranny in the great hall and surrounding wine cellars and dungeons.
What a wonderful place; old brick work, vines, sculptures, artistic endeavours of all sorts (both good and bad). We chose rooms according to their acoustic properties; it was the first album where we explored the rhythmic nature of the band as a fully fledged six piece.Yes sir I can Boogie, Cold and the Crackle, Clay and Little King were the percussive songs; Marriage is a Mess and Kerry's Green the ballads.'twas the first record we really believed in ourselves as a band. The tour was great, we were starting to get noticed, it was all beer and skittles.' David Bridie.
