Originally released in 1995, the title track features long time supporter Carlos Santana and his band. Van Morrison features on the duet “Medley: Serves Me Right To Suffer / Syndicator.” Charles Brown and his band join in on “Kiddio” and “”Annie Mae.” Chill Out was awarded the Grammy for the Best Traditional Blues Album.
His music could be as edgy, raucous and trance-inducing as anything yet created by man. Chill Out begins on a decidedly happy note. Lush synthesizer chords, congas, timbales and a wailing guitar solo announce the title track, as Carlos Santana and his band enjoy another close encounter with the master. The album was recorded in just one take.
Featuring some extended soloing from Carlos Santana, Chill Out is filled with long blues workouts, all captured in pristine, state-of-the-art technology.
